Beverley Harper MSc RECBT (Goldsmiths) PDCBH, MBSCH
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
There are great many things that can be problematic for people. Confusing emotions and difficult emotions, relationship difficulties, work concerns, long-term pain and illness, difficult childhood and life experiences are come of the problems people come to see her about.
Beverley believes that everyone is an individual and no two people experience an area the same, although there may be similarities. She believes that everyone has an inherent ability to become their own therapist and that her role, whatever the issues are, is to help facilitate long-term change and growth through understanding, questioning, direction and encouragement within the CBT framework.
The most common reasons people come to see Beverley are
- low self-confidence
- panic attacks
- relationship issues
- fertility issues
- stress management
- weight problems
- habits like smoking or binge drinking
- sexual problems.
However, often, people have more complex problems in which aspects of the issues listed above may be a feature. And sometimes, people just feel stuck, that their life is not where they want it to be, cognitive behavioural therapy can help.
